My first collection for October is called Pretty Daisy. I've used Effetre Lavender 247, Effetre Purple 272, Recichenbach dense white and a medley of pink and purple for the twistie canes.
The fab shards in this selection are a lovely pale lilac colour. I've used the pretty daisy murrini and shards to create a beautiful focal.
This dark amethyst focal features an iris type flower that has been created with swipes of Pretty Daisy twistie cane.
I made this little round focal for the Craft Pimp Forum X factor bead sweep (which I sadly goteveicted from in week 4). Ive encased the daisy murrini under one half of the bead and decorated the other side with dots and stringer.
This sweet collection of blues is called Delft Daisy. I've used CiM Glacier, Reichenbach Dense White, Effetre Light Blue 224, Effetre Periwinkle and a medley of blue and white in the twiste cane.
This pretty focal uses sherbet dib dab shards from September's harvest collection and cane form this months pack to create delicate raised flower decoration.
For my second focal I have used Deft Daisy shards over a base of dark aqua and swiped on pretty flowers with some striped leaky pen cane (available made to order in my lampy supplies shop) that happened to be on my desk at the time.
Last up i have a third aqua focal to share, this one is covered with lovely blue and white daisy murrini from the Delft collection.
It is now possible to join the Mini Mo' Club via Etsy for 3, 6, 9 or 12
month long subscriptions. Please check out my shop link for more info.

Applying 3D flower murrini #blogtoberfest13 day 1
I'm starting #Blogtoberfest13 with a bang and this lovely tutorial for applying 3D flower murrini that I wrote back in January this year but until now it was just in pdf form rather than on my blog. I hope you like it xx
Step 1• Spot heat your bead where you would like your murrini to go, pick up your murrini with long nose tweezers or murrini hemostats and plunge the point end in to your softened bead.
Step 2• Cap your murrini with a small dot of clear to protect the surface of the murrini and stop the pattern from closing up when heated.

Step 3
• Heat your clear cap in a low flame and press it gently so that the end of your murrini starts to flare out. Repeat this step as many times as you like to help your petals to open more but remember to heat and press gently each time, opening the bloom is a gradual process.
Step 4
• Melt a larger dot of glass on the end of the clear rod and drop the glass on top of your clear cap and then flame cut the drop from the rod. Check your newly applied glass for any scum or unwanted bubbles and remove this with tweezers. Checking and removing any impurity at this early stage whilst your murrini is still cool is best. Trying to remove a blemish in the clear layer when your murrini is hot may distort your flower.
Step 5
• Heat and pat down your larger clear cap
gently. Do this several times, working
slowly to prevent smearing your murrini.
Your clear cap at this stage should be
much wider than your murrini.
Step 6
• Heat your clear cap and allow gravity to
pull the clear down over the sides of your
flower murrini. You can use a pick at this
stage to ease the clear cap down at the
sides until it meets your base bead.
You can go on to fully encase your base
bead around your murrini “bumps” or
continue to use gentle heat and gravity to
shape your clear lens over the top of your
flower murrini.
I hope you have enjoyed my flower murrini tutorial, Jolene x

One murrini, seven ways
Starburst murrini are very versatile, this mini tute gives seven illustrated examples of how to get a different look from just one style of murrini chip.
1. Apply the murrini chip to your bead and then heat and press gently to flatten. Continue to heat and press a little at a time until the murrini is flat to the surface of your bead.
2. Apply the murrini chip to your bead and then heat and press gently to flatten. Leave the chip raised and encase with clear to give your murrini a lens.
3. Apply the murrini chip to your bead and then heat until glowing and press the centre with a dental pick or other poking tool.
4. Apply the murrini chip to your bead and then heat until glowing and press the centre with a dental pick or other poking tool. Heat and press your murrini gently. Continue to heat and press a little at a time until the murrini is flat to the surface of your bead.
5. Apply the murrini chip to your bead and then heat until glowing and press the centre with a dental pick or other poking tool. Leave the chip raised and encase with clear to give your murrini a lens with a trapped bubble.
6. Apply the murrini chip to your bead and then heat until glowing and press the centre with a dental pick or other poking tool. Heat and press your murrini gently. Continue to heat and press a little at a time until the murrini is flat to the surface of your bead. Spot heat your murrini then take a clear stringer and twist the murrini to look make it look like a vortex.
6. Apply the murrini chip to your bead and then heat until glowing and press the center with a dental pick or other poking tool. Heat and press your murrini gently. Continue to heat and press a little at a time until the murrini is flat to the surface of your bead. Spot heat your murrini then take a clear stringer and twist the murrini to look like a vortex. Spot heat again and poke with your pokey tool then encase with clear to give your murrini a lens with a trapped bubble.

last up for Turtle Bay is this pretty trio of Bracelet Charm beads in Effetre light turquoise transparent with two kinds of Turtle murrini and Inside-out Blue Barnacle murrini.
The second collecting is based around a cheeky red Mudcrab murrini called Mandy. I've used Effetre Carrot Red 424, Yellow Ocher 460 and Light Ivory with Mandy Mudcrab murrini and Inside-out Red Barnacle murrini. The shards have been laced with fine silver.
Here is a trio of Bracelet Charm beads in gorgeous Efftre Dark Teal with Mandy Mudcrab murrini and Red inside-out Barnacle murrini,

Christmas Murrini Gallery...........
Good morning, a little post to show your some of the darling Christmas themed murrini that I have up for sale on www.fritnchips.etsy.com right now. I'm finding it hard to wrap my head around the idea that it will be December already in just a few days. This year has flown by like no other!
First up, I made this festive necklace using holly and berry murrini over pure silver foil with a heavy encasement of clear to magnify the detail.
Here is what the a single chip look like before it has been used in a bead - you get 15 (plus a couple of spares) in every festive baggie of these lovely chips. I also have cute holly without berries too made with lush deep green glass.
This detailed Appletini Christmas bead set features a few of my gift wrapped present murrini - each design can be bought individually in sets of 18 (plus a couple of spares) or as part of a mixed pack.
I also have a limited number of holiday murrini collections too, just 30+ detailed chips with a minimum of 4 pcs in each of my festive designs.
The last murrini I would like to show today are these cute button designs. Great for little seasonal snow folk but fab to have in all year round to add a touch of whimsy and kitsch to your bead designs and critter folk.
You can get a fab selection pack of 25 pcs or a single colour pack of 25 pcs for just a fiver.
Thanks, Jolene x

Fruity Murrini Gallery......
I've put to together a little gallery post of all of the fruit murrini I've made so far. The fascination I have with tiny food is not a new one. I've always liked to look at dolls house miniatures and have a couple of polymer clay books on the subject (though I have yet to try making any in FIMO or similar) and as a child I loved the fruit images that your see running through traditionally made boiled sweets.
So in no particular order, first up are my Sliced Strawberries (above) made with CiM Maraschino and Effetre Angel Pink 641 and CiM Split Pea leaves.
More Maraschino made strawberries here, this time they have been dipped in cream (Effetre White) with pretty little sticky-uppie Split Pea leaves.
These juicy limes were cut from the first fruit cane that I ever pulled. They have Effetre grass green segments, CiM Cardamon pith and and Effetre Petrol Green peel.
Next up, sliced apple murrini made with CiM Cardamom which is just the most perfect shade for the flesh of these chips. I used Effetre Dark Brown Special for the pips and CiM Split Pea for the crisp apple skin as I was wanting a "Granny Smith" kind of look to them.
I used the same trio of glass colours here, Cardamom, Split Pea and Dark Brown Special. These chips show halved apples rather than sliced pieces and I think that these are my absolute favourite murrini chips so far.
Or maybe these are :-D because these Bitten Apples do make me smile. I've used just two colours in these, CiM Elphaba and Effetre Dark Brown Special for the stalks.
Last but definitely not least I have some juicy grapefruit slices to show you. These are the brightest and sunniest chips in my lampy supplies store right now, CiM Lemon Drop segments, CiM Linen Pith and Effetre Light Lemon Yellow for the peel.
Thanks for looking, Jolene x

Mini Mo' Aug 2011 - Sedona Park and Parma Violets
This colourway is my favourite so far. Lashings of Effetre Ivory, silver leaf and beautiful striking shards made from lovely Coral/Orange Phoenix. The colour takes me back to a holiday, many moons ago, to Arizona and it brings to mind fond memories of an afternoon tooling about in Sedona National Park in a Pink Jeep!

This pressed vertebrae bead has been finished with a Sedona park silvered murrini on each side. I have left them a little raised to show how they look when used this way. I have a thing for making murrini with asymmetric starburst "spokes" at the minute and these take that idea about as far as I could push it to give them a softer and more organic appearance without them looking unstructured.
This pretty little bead set has been made on a base of Effetre mid Topaz and uses little pieces of Sedona Park twistie encased with 006 to magnify the detail. Several of the beads have Sedona Park murrini which have been melted in flush to the beads surface.
My second colourway this month puts me in mind of those little rolls of perfumed sweets that I used to love when I was little. It is called Parma Violet (or more truthfully and being queen of typo's Palma Violets). It's a lovely (slightly reactive in an oxygen rich flame) lavender, lilac and pale violet selection. The glass I have used here includes Lauscha Violet, ASK petal Pink and CiM Thai Orchid.
To the left is a vertebrae bead with a twist, the ribs have been made with a rod of pale lilac filligreano which has left a floating ribbon of colour wrapped around my bead. I have finished each side with raised Parma Violet murrini - these again have asymmetric "spokes" to give them an organic feel.
to the right are a set of beads created using long lengths of Parma Violets Twistie cane. I wrapped these in a low flame over a tube shaped base of CiM Thai Orchid or ASK Petal Pink and encased with a thick layer of Effetre 006.

This final bead set uses Midnight Whisper shards which are made with a new colour - CiM Midnight ltd run. You can read more about my Midnight Messy Testing here.
