Messy Testing - Spooky ltd run

This collection of spooky ghost beads are made with various shades of Creation is Messy opal white glass. From left to right there is Cirrus, Spooky ltd run which is coming out very soon, followed by Frozen ltd run, Marshmallow ltd run, and last up Marble ltd run.

Spooky seems to sit about half way between Cirrus and Frozen in terms of translucency. It is really easy to work with. Like many of CiM's opal glasses it melts slowly and cools quickly making it super glass to use for sculptural beads.

Messy Testing Barrier Reef, Mockingbird and Maroon ltd Run

This lovely trio of heart pairs are made with a lush new intense green transparent glass coming out soon from CiM called Barrier Reef ltd Run. I have pulled a fine stringer of Barrier Reef from the end of the rod and used it to decorate hearts made from a base of Frozen ltd run. The petals on the floral pair are made with a lush new red called Maroon ltd run.

These Frozen hearts are decorated with a stringer of  a new pretty and subtle transparent grey called Mockingbird ltd run. The flowers petals on this floral pair have also been made with Maroon ltd run.

I chose Frozen ltd run as the base for these new colours as it a beautiful opal white and I wanted to get a real feel for what shades I would get from Barrier Reef and Mockingbird from very fine stringer.

Interestingly, whilst messing about with the newer colours I found that Frozen kiln strikes a bit to something more opaque. I made the Barrier Reef dot and wrap beads first then got called out of the studio for over and hour and left them to keep warm in the kiln. Those first two pairs are markedly more opaque looking than the others.

Messy Testing - Frozen, Sakura, Nimbus and French Grey ltd run

In this post I am looking at four new colours that will be coming out soon from Creation is Messy. First up is Frozen is a new opal white ltd run  I made two Pisanka (Polish decorated Easter egg) style sets of beads from Frozen (at the front) and Marshmallow (at the back) for comparison. Frozen is more translucent and has a slightly blue tint when compared to Marshmallow.

This set of leaves and flower buds are made with a stunning new transparent pink called Sakura Ltd Run. I have swiped on petals of Sakura over Frozen for a very romantic combination of colours.

I adore the next two colours, a pair of soft looking opal grey melts. This first colour is a lush dark grey called Nimbus ltd run, a name that suits is very well.

The last new colour that I have to share today is called French Grey ltd run. I absolutely adore the way that white stringer (Effetre white) looks feathered at the edges over French Grey.
